A Blessing in Disguise?

I am a week and a half into my forced bench time and I can’t help but wonder if this is more of a blessing than a punishment.  Ok, it is the last week of summer and the outdoor pools are closing tomorrow while I have been banned from them.  In addition to being banned from the pool, I am not permitted to run (I guess that is a given), no yoga (unless I am do it on my hands only), I am permitted to use the elliptical machine so long as I keep my boot on, I might add that my ortho is a smart ass!  I tried getting on the elliptical machine with the boot on and it doesn’t really work!
I have had the blessing to work with a personal training who is helping me continue my workouts while following the doctor’s rules.  This means I am getting a lot of cross training that my body is not used to, in other words my body is going through uncharted territories and I hate to admit it but it feels good.
I missed my workout on Friday so I felt I would make it up today.  On the books was 20 minutes on the arm bike followed by 5 minutes on the recumbent bike and 20 sit-ups for 20 minutes.  Well, that got changes a little since someone beat me to the hand bike.  I started off with 20 minutes on the recumbent bike followed by 20 sit-ups followed by 5 minutes on the hand bike, instead of 20 minutes I decided to do a full 4 sets.  Tomorrow is torture day, I mean personal trainer day!  I love my trainer and he has guaranteed me that even with my gimping, I WILL feel my workouts and he has yet to let me down! By the time I am finally able to run again I will be in awesome all over shape!!!!!!!
